May 2009 - After an
exciting and busy week leading up to our wedding we were ready to
get away and relax. The Hut was just the thing! We walked 45 minutes over farmland and through native bush and had amazing views once we reached the hut. The Hut's fire was already going so it was beautiful, warm and cosy - perfect on a cold autumn's day. Bridget graced us with her presence which we requested for a hand and foot massage and great conversation. For overseas tourists this is a great piece of kiwi hospitality and for us kiwis - you will not be disappointed! Later in the evening we heated water with a fire outside for the cast iron bath and spent the evening under a clear sky of stars in a steaming hot bath, sipping champagne with views all around. April 2008 - We had a fantastic time, lots of laughs and fond memories shared. The hut is so very special, Susan and I watched the sun rise and colour the Tararuas, and the cloud drift off, to reveal the frost below. I had a lovely dip in the bath with the moon over the ridge and a few stars between the clouds. It was so comfortable and warm, just right for the not quite so adventurous campers. 17-18 April 2008 - The hut was everything I wanted with the sisterhood to celebrate my 50th. Many laughs and lots of reminiscing for us all. Our foot massage was wonderful Bridget, and the bath under the moon and stars - heavenly. The fire so cosy on a cool night and good to keep the kettle hot. Opting to take the walk over the top and round the hill capped off a most memorable weekend.
